                            Front End Developer - FED 

Job Description
You are motivated to combine your knowledge in human centered design with the art of programming. You have over 6-years experience in designing and developing intuitive, innovative and responsive
experiences that people love to use. Before you start coding, you want to understand the user experience to explore the needs, behaviors, and emotions of users, so that you take an informed approach to the experiences you create.

Responsibilities will include collaborating on high-fidelity prototypes and translating designs into accessible code that is modern, elegant and responsive. 

 Day-to-Day:

•	Develop interactive experiences that improve our relationship with members
•	Work closely with Designers, Content and Back-End Engineers to implement front-end solutions
•	Code high quality responsive and progressive web experiences
•	Push the limits by embracing emerging standards while promoting best practices
•	Manage multiple experiences simultaneously
•	Work with the team to evolve the member experience
•	Recommending and implementing scalable code to be used across functional teams
 
Qualifications:
•	A great collaborator and effective communicator
•	Applied knowledge of problem solving using human-centered design (HCD)
•	Designer mentality backed by 6+ years of web development experience 
•	3+ years developing websites for people with disabilities and or special needs
•	3+ years experience prototyping experience that are tested with users
•	Portfolio that demonstrates well-architected, performant, and responsive HTML, CSS/SCSS, and Javascript 
•	Extensive experience contributing to shared codebases using Git
•	Code portfolio demonstrating the above requirements 

Contract Term
12-month contract with the possibility of a 12-month extension (not contract to hire)

Locations
•	San Antonio 
•	Austin (Commute at minimum 2 days a week to San Antonio)
•	Domestic Remote: As a last resort
o	Will need to spend the first two weeks and one-week a quarter in San Antonio
o	Home office must meet USAA requirements
